'Everyday active' classes return

Posted by news desk in Local News, 10th June 2008, 5:18pm

Adults in Three Rivers can enjoy staying fit and healthy over the summer season, with the popular Everyday Active programme from Three Rivers District Council.

Back by popular demand, the exercise and crafts activity programme offers enjoyable exercise sessions and also gives residents the chance to take up an old arts and crafts hobby, or try something new.

Activities will include Movement to Music, a gentle exercise session involving Pilates, plus refreshments and a social chat. Line dancing will be on offer and the popular Creative Textile sessions will be back, offering residents the opportunity to work with batik, embroidery and hand appliqué.

Highlights of the summer programme include Healthy Cooking, Woodwork and Creative Writing sessions.

Portfolio holder for leisure and community, Councillor Chris Whately Smith, said: "The Everyday Active programme aims to offer something for everybody. Designed to stimulate both the mind and body through exercise and craft sessions, the programme is a great way to get out and try something new this summer."

Most courses are £28.00 for eight weeks and will take place between June and August.
