Join the Watford Council Remuneration Panel

Are you interested in becoming a member of Watford Borough Council's Members' Remuneration Panel?



The role of the Panel is to make recommendations on the payment of allowances for councillors.



In Watford, the Panel also makes recommendations on the Mayor's salary and the Chairman's and Vice-Chairman's allowances.



The term of office for members of the Remuneration Panel is four years. Members received a payment of £200 per annum and travelling expenses outside the borough. The Panel usually meets once each year.



To be a member of the Panel you must not:



* be a member of any local authority in respect of which the panel makes recommendations

* someone who would be disqualified from being an elected member of a local authority

* be a member of a committee or a sub-committee of an authority in respect of which the panel makes recommendation, including co-opted members
